Z Homing Issues - Testing the Z Endstop Board
Modified on: Wed, 28 Mar, 2018 at 3:49 PM
The printer is told it has "Homed" in the Z axis by bringing the nozzle down to the plate and pressing the nozzle against the plate. This pushes the extruder idler arm up, and triggers a switch. These steps will confirm the switch is functioning properly.
Plug in printer and Head to the Local UI. This is accessable from the printer dashboard page.
Go to the CONTROLS tab and find the "Send a GCode" text box
Hold the extruder arm DOWN like the photo shown, and while holding down, type and send M119 GCode. Z should read as OPEN.
Hold the extruder arm UP like in the photo shown, and while holding up, type and send M119 GCode. Z should read as TRIGGERED.
If either one of the situations in 3-4 aren't correct (reading as triggered when opened, reading as open when triggered) please notify the Polar3D support staff.
